A scheduled life makes a happy life

Hey y'all

You know how it is so easy to obsess over having a tidy home and not only that but come on I mean a clean home! I can do tidy but this not clean thing is driving me batty! Some may say I am nesting but I know honestly this is a routine thing that I want to keep. It is so easy to get behind and feel so overwhelmed so from now on dishes are done and laundry is sorted! These two basic things can make your home feel like a train wreck happened! I want to continue on in this routine so my children and I can really focus on the important things in life! Not mommy being a crab because she feels behind and shuts the kids out so she can catch up!

So why start a morning/midday routine for chores? For one it keeps structure for the kids and the home. Two it keeps me accountable to not spending all day cleaning and having my kids play in their room all day or soak up countless hours of cartoons or movies! Yes I will admit it this is a failure of mine as I am sure is of so many mothers of young ones.

It is so easy to tell ourselves that our little ones will just be in the way well I disagree and I intend to have my children help me with our household morning chores. Every morning my girls will have a basic routine for themselves just like I do! Get up, make bed, get dressed, hair done, eat breakfast and brush teeth. Kids thrive on structure and they love it because then there is less surprises of them not understanding of why they are getting scolded for something they didn't know was not to be done at that time. If they know what is expected they will aim to please and accomplish the task. Plus as a parent it gives me a great opportunity to praise them for their great work!

So last night I finally got to it and made a chore chart for morning/midday chores. I have been meaning and meaning to get a list made up but kept putting off. Well because of that this last week had felt so hectic and pointless all at the same time no matter how much I got accomplished. Yes I am sure you know and have experienced that same feeling! So I made a list of my basic things that need to be done every week so that by Saturday and Sunday my home is in order for any guests or if we should leave for the weekend it is in order upon our return.

Some of the things I included to be done are: Morning routines; Dust and Vacuum main living area, Sweep and mop, Tidy dressers, night stands and hot spots(places where clutter seems to accumulate), Vacuum bedrooms,  Guest bathroom wiped down and laundry sorted, All laundry put away and caught up on. My midday routines: Make a menu and shopping list every two weeks, Errand day, Library, Clean out cars and church bags, Purge and take out trashes, Clean out fridge and stock freezer for next weeks meals.

I split these up all on days according to what works best for me and I am sure as time passes I will switch them to a better day that will work but the basic is that my home will be in order most of the time. I will also know that weekly I have accomplished some of the tasks that would otherwise be left undone because I have not given a scheduled time to accomplish them.

Time management oh speaking of another thing I am doing with these chores is not allowing my self to obsess over them but to get them done in a timely manner so I will be using a timer so my girls and I can get on to the next task at hand. Which will be Faith's school and any other activity I might have planned for the girls to do. Some may say crazy to care so much about scheduling chores and managing your time like a your in the army but the way I see it is how many of us has said there is just not enough time in the day! Hope this helps and motivates you to become and better steward of the things and most of all the time that the good Lord has given you.

God Bless~ Chelsie

Beauties on Sunday

They always look so pretty on Sundays!

I always curl their hair but just on Sundays.
It's their special day to look their best!

Justice looks so grown up with her bangs curled so pretty
and her hair is finally past her shoulders.

We have always woke up with at least two hours to get ready. After three years of routine I finally have the time to spend extra time on making my girls feel special and look beautiful for church. With our little one coming I hope I can stay in the routine of things because the girls enjoy it so much! I am sure the first couple weeks home won't  be as smooth but I hope to keep up on making them feel so special on Sundays!

Sweetest moments

There are so many amazing moments during Christmas time. The soft lights glistening off the tree, the gentle sound of Christmas music, the light snowfall, and this year one of my sweetest moments has been having all these and then feeling this precious baby boy growing and moving around inside me. Today he has been so sweet...literally! No hard rough kicks just a few soft movements arms or legs moving gently and he's even been turning today. The bigger he gets the more movements I can feel and tell what he is up to! It's just precious! I had Justice before Christmas so this is a first and with Faith I found out I was pregnant with her December 8th 2005. So experiencing being pregnant during Christmas has been amazing! It's been different I put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving just to make sure it was all taken care of for the girls. This has given us even more time to enjoy the lights and decoration. Oh and of course don't forget all the extra baking I have been doing to get my family into the spirit! My husband is loving it! Goodies all the time and the house smelling of fresh cookies or pumpkin cookies. I am already planning on some brownie making next week. There is no real pressing reason for making them just another fun thing to do with the kids! Oh and making hot cocoa and watching the girls gobble it down. Justice rubs her tummy and says yummy! Too darling!

This Christmas is going to be different. We won't have the normal things that we are used to doing. We won't be traveling to Upton, my mom will be gone in Nebraska welcoming my new nephew! This will be the first Christmas without my Dad being here. I must say tho I have been praising the Lord for the 16 years I had with him. He had a major heart attack shortly after my mom and him met and I am so grateful the Lord shared him with us for so much longer! Of course I would love to have him longer but I really am so thankful that he is in heaven with the Lord! I wonder if they celebrate on Christmas...haha everyday he gets to be with the Saviour! Awh to be honest I can't think of a better blessing this year than knowing he is in heaven! I miss you Dad but I would rather you be well and at complete peace in heaven!

This year we will be spending Christmas in the Lord's house :) I am planning on making something yummy the night before that I can heat up. Getting it all ready and then having the girls come out and eat. Then open presents and off to church! Oh to praise the Lord on the day He came for us! Then I imagine we will head over to Scott's parents for some food and if there is football of course we will probably be watching! Then the evening service at the church with all our church family! We have all had a very hectic year with the loss of loved ones and our pastor. It will be a blessing to share in the candlelight service this year! God has done so much for all of us! But most I praise God for sweet baby Jesus. I cannot thank Him enough for coming and the way He came shows so much humility. What an amazing God!

Blessings must be counted

Hey y'all,

I felt the need to write today and as I was thinking I thought what could I possibly have to share. Well to be honest there is plenty but to save you time and spare you all the details I will keep this on point.

So blessings must be counted....As I ponder on this fact think about it yourself what are your blessings. You know with Christmas just around the corner it is easy to think of all the things we would like or like to be able to give. Christmas has become a holiday of giving and receiving which I guess is fine but what about everyday things. What if we made everyday like Christmas were just around the corner. What if every day we showed true CHRISTian character just out of the love that we have because of the Holy Spirit. Have you ever tipped a Wendy's employee a few extra dollars through the drive thru because you wanted to be more of a blessing to them. I know I usually do during the holiday season. Something comes over me to give to people I don't even know. To be a true blessing to someone out of love hoping nothing in return.

One detail I will share I wish in my own life I would have a more open and giving spirit about me! Today was the first day I think I actually invited my sister to dinner in all the years we have lived together in Gillette. How sad is that! It's taken me all this time to have an open heart to having my own family into my home for dinner! Sure I have fed her here but actually invite her and make her feel at home yep first time, brings tears to my eyes to see how shut off I have been. Unfortunately she won't be able to come she has to work. Sometimes I wonder where is my focus, what am I thinking, what am I doing? I shut out my loved ones not even realizing it! Has there been a button turned off in my brain or is it on my heart? I am truly sorry that it's taken me so long to realize this. Sure I could make excuses and say I have been busy and unorganized with kids but does that really count. NO to me it's not enough. I literally have not been open to blessing those who are closest to me! I hope that changes for good and it's not a temporary thing during this Christmas season.

So tonight we will be having crock pot roasted chicken and I am sure it won't be a blessed without having my sister over but I know now that the invitation to my sister will be open all the time!

Blessings I could go on and on about the blessings we have received lately but not only that I can just think of the daily blessings. A home; a beautiful home with nice things, heat, electric, a full pantry, fridge, freezer, my families needs are all met, the ability to stay at home, to be a stay at home/homeschooling mom, an amazing husband who provides so well for us, the love that we share, an amazing mom who will help abundantly, AMAZING "in-laws"(who can truly say that and mean it, ME), my sisters whom I love very much, a blessed church family, two vehicles that run very good, the ability to put gas in them, true friendships that don't end, and so many many more things! These are the big basic things I can thank God for everyday. God is faithful to me and my family everyday. On a rough day where things may not be going completely my way or we get bad news it may be hard to see the blessings but we must see the blessings everyday!

I challenge you to think of your blessings make a list if you have to. If you praise God you won't complain to God! Be blessed my friends and loved ones!

It's looking like Christmas

So I have some new photos of our snowfall and the girls getting out and playing. Then we also took a a few of our house decorated for Christmas and the girls with the decorated tree!

This is what it looked like when I started decorating the tree

This was after!!! It really start coming down!

Making snowballs :)

Faith "Now we throw them at each other" Ready set GO!"

A bit hard to get up there the first couple times.

But then I turned it into a sliding hill :)

Faith without slick snow pants attempted but it wasn't the same and too cold!

My buffet decorated with decor!

Our archway to the hall
"The Clems at Christmas"

Fun for the girls to have pretties everywhere.

After we got done with the tree. They were so happy!
They ate cookies and marshmallows with hot chocolate while we got the hooks on the ornaments then we decorated to Christmas music. After we were finished we read a Christmas book from the library. It was about a boy who helped his dad sell Christmas trees at the Rockefeller Center and how they were blessed that next Christmas day with a new home from the construction crew from the Rockefeller Center.  A very good book. I think the girls had a great night and enjoyed it alot!

Tomorrow is a new day

Nights like tonight I wonder why? I know every mom has been here asking herself why was I even given two kids to raise I can't handle them! That was my night for sure! Literally everything for the past 2 to 3 hours anything that could go wrong with them went wrong. Faith kicking Justice in the face, neither of them eating their dinner well, then down from dinner (plates still not near eaten), then jumping off the walls, Justice rips a page out of a brand new library book, Mom loses it, then ice the cake Faith does something to Justice to make her lips start bleeding! Even though it is only 8 o'clock on the dot I say enough is enough and to bed they go! Craziness right! Insanity right! Enough to make you want to pull your hair out right!

Well this is the stuff we laugh at in the movies but when you are going thru it in real life you say oh my I am out of my mind!!! We had such a blessed day yesterday and the first majority of today was a really good day! It was just tonight that was insane! I am sitting here racking my brain as I write this...is there something I could have done to stop this all from heading into a tale spin? They both were disciplined when it was apparent they were being naughty. A complete and utter tale spin it went completely out of control in a matter of minutes it seemed. Now looking back it was escalating but come on I mean this many events in just one night! Times like this I wish I could say is this really normal!? It can't be....times like this I am ready to hit up a chat forum with mothers just to get some wisdom and advice!  Nights like tonight make me wonder is it me or is it the kids that are really causing all this? Parenting is so tough, you never know when you are right. You just hope you are and pray for the rest! Literally I had to get those girls into bed tonight for my sanity, the health of my baby, and their own safety! I mean before I knew it Justice is bleeding because of whatever happen in their room! Not to mention if this mom had to deal with one more crisis situation I would have lost it!

I have no idea why I am even sharing this post but hopefully it does some good! I know tomorrow is a new day and it will Lord willing be a better day! I sure hope so it is Sunday after all! A day where we are able to go to church and worship God. It would be wonderful if Faith's or Justice's heart was convicted tomorrow over disobedience. I guess that is what I will pray for tonight and that God also would give me some wisdom or encouragement tomorrow! Tomorrow is a new day so tonight I must sleep well and rise to meet my Lord in the morning with a fresh start! Praise the Lord His mercies are renewed each morning!

The warm and fuzzies

It's days like today where I get the warm and fuzzies....you know that feeling inside where you feel at peace, calm and able to enjoy every moment breathed into your day! Today was that kind of day. Was it all perfect no but at the end of the day I have so much to rejoice about.

My kids and I had a wonderful day. Did I say they were well behaved all day...NO but...they made my day far more better even with their brief moments of not listening their best to me. A day doesn't have to be without mishaps to be a great day in fact it's what you make of those mishaps that can make your day better or much much worse than it has to be! We had a relaxing morning breakfast, cartoons, the girls playing in their new hangout the love seat opened up with a blanket on it...I have yet to figure out the excitement about it but it has kept them very entertained! One reason I think it is is because they got grounded from their room yesterday. Yes I said grounded from their room; they made it a complete and utter disaster! I decided it was time to take a break from their room and all the spoil of their toys. So that when they get their room back they will have an appreciation for it and the things they have in it. This was day two of full grounding from their room and it was a wonderful day. My husband might disagree but I already see a change in them and the fact that they are obeying and not touching their toys or attempting to go into their room is showing me they are learning obedience in a new light which to me is worth more than anything! This type of lesson is a long lesson in enduring boundaries and discipline. One I have yet to really try but I must say I am enjoying seeing the respect and obedience out of my children towards me. This has been a rewarding discipline method thus far. Tonight Faith knew she was not to go into her room and Scott was not enjoying having them so close and LOUD while he was trying to listen to the news so I printed pages for them to color and they were very well behaved after that and very grateful to have something productive to do. I forget how much their brain needs stimulated!

Anyway enough about that...that was a side note for my mom readers haha :) Alright back on to my day. So it started off relaxed and I let the girls stay in jammies for quite a while and then slowly worked them into getting ready for the day. I had them get dressed and then I did their hair. Then I said to them alright girls are you ready to go to the library?!!? YAY!!! They both jump up and down! I said ok shoes on! Then something twinged at my heart the thought of my husband...I said to the girls before we go let's make daddy a card! The girls love to do things for their daddy so we got out the construction paper and markers and started on our quick craft for daddy. Faith drew hearts and crosses and then the whole family on the card including the baby boy. Justice told me what to write and I guided her hand to do the writing but they were all her words! She was practicing her circles which was darling who knows I may have another artist on my hands! I also wrote Scott a note yes on construction paper and with markers! Telling him how blessed I am to have him in my life and just how much I cherish him. Then I printed out a recent 4x7 of  the girls: the one in my previous post and put it in a plastic frame for his desk at work. Then we were off, first: to see daddy and surprise him with our gifts made with love! Well when we arrived no one was there but then Scott's co-worker showed up and let us in to put it on the desk. One of the girls that stays at the home said is it his birthday or something? I said no we just like to show Scott he is loved she looked surprised like who does that kind of stuff! I pray that girl one day has an amazing husband and understands what it's like to just want to do something nice because you love him not because it's his birthday. I truly cherish my husband and want him to know that outside of the Lord I will love him most and show him that in my prayers, words, and actions. You can never cherish your mate too much!

So the girls and I were off to get a bite to eat and then on to to library. A favorite for my kids is to eat in the back of the van and since we always have the back seat down for Scott's wheelchair it's like a picnic :) As we were climbing back today Faith says Mommy your belly is getting to big for you to do this. She is right it was difficult but it was worth it to see the smile on their face as Mom handed out their lunch and they felt special at their picnic with Mommy. Silly little things....who says you can't picnic in the winter! It was nice to see the snow fall around us as we sat in the back of our warm vehicle.  After we were finished we went on into library. I love our library it is so kid friendly! It is such a blessing to know we can go in and  be warm and have something fun to do outside of being at home. They have story time through out the week but we don't always go because we try to stay on a schedule with Faith's school. I am planning on taking them if they have it next week as I am sure it will be all about Thanksgiving and to me that is educational because it's a  holiday! The girls first picked out their movies; one of my purposes for going because it's suppose to be a very wintery weekend and I figured we may as well have plenty to keep us in if it's too bad to go out! Next we worked on two big puzzles all together. Justice loves puzzles and she is not intimidated by big ones which thrills me. I read tonight how great it is that children like puzzles it helps a lot with detailed learning in the future years?... I had no idea! I read it in my homeschooling magazine I pick up at the library every other month! What a great thing to have for encouragement and ideas! So after puzzles the girls watch a bit of a movie with other kids in the movie/game area while I picked out some books for the girls and I to read together! Which we did tonight....we read five books and Faith was pointing out words that she new from her reading in school :) So we had a great time at the library today and then I came home let them nap and I enjoyed a wonderful movie. "Tho none go with me" it's a great movie if you can watch it do it will be a blessing to you and your faith. Then I wrapped up some laundry and called a friend from MOPS and asked her about some Christmas books she had shared with us last year. These books are great and I intend on ordering them. The Adventure of Christmas: Helping Children Find Jesus in Our Holiday Traditions by Lisa Whelchel and Jeannie Mooney and also  Christ in Christmas: A Family Advent Celebration by James Dobson, Charles Swindoll, James Montgomery Boice and R. C. Sproul.
She also mentioned doing a Jesse tree. I might do this next year it's a lot of work and I am not sure if this year will be the year to do it!  You can google it...it seems really neat but probably something that will be more worth sharing when the kids are a little older and can be more involved and have more understanding. I want to make this year and each year from here on out more and more memorable for my kids. I intend on purchasing some advent calenders for the girls too. I remember my parents doing it one year when I was really little. I would like to make it a tradition to go over these books and to have a special treat each night in December before Christmas. I am looking forward to making this Christmas season all about Christ! I am hoping to find some online crafts and possibly games to do with the kids to show them all about the birth of Jesus.  Well this post is extremely long but hey I was inspired to share my blessed day with you! I will have you know I topped my day off with looking out the window in my baby's new room seeing the snow glisten, taking a deep breath and smelling that newborn smell from all the baby stuff in the room. Awh the peace and joy, then I went and put in a hot wassail scentsy warmer so tomorrow I can start off my day with thoughts of the holidays just around the corner! Love to all~Goodnight and God Bless

Baby boy shower!!!

So I had an amazing shower thrown by two of my best girl friends. (Shawna Mannon and Ashley Pollick) They did an amazing job and afterwards I realized I didn't take a single picture of my amazing and unforgettable shower! So you won't actually be seeing pictures of the shower just of the gifts I received. But I will tell you about my shower it was so unique; I have never been to a shower like this. First Shawna sat up a potato bar complete with wine glasses and all the toppings you love on potatoes, butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, and even bacon! YUMMY! Then after everyone was able to get their fill of their amazing potatoes they were invited to dine on the luncheon. Chicken salad/grape sandwiches,a strawberry salad, and a cheesy toasted bread. After we had all enjoyed an amazing lunch I started opening my gifts, while my guest enjoyed a homemade chocolate cheese cake made my Ashley! Oh my yum it's one of my favorite desserts.

This shower was such a blessing! I was showered with so much love that day! I had nearly thirty people show up and celebrate with me! I truly am so loved! I was so overwhelmed by how many people were there I started to cry when I was thanking them for all coming! These weren't people who were just acquaintances these are people that I have a genuine relationship with every single one of them! I am shocked by how many amazing people the Lord has put in my life. But really it's not about the quantity it's all about the quality of these people. I have been blessed to have so many christian woman in my life! Each and everyone of these women has helped developed me and shape me into the woman God would have me to be! They all have had a direct influence on my walk as a christian! What an awesome thought of the body of Christ! I had a friend of mine text me that night and tell me she was so glad she was able to come to my shower and that is was truly an amazing moment to see all those people gathered around me in love! I was glad it was just more than me that was blessed by my shower! God is so good in ALL things!
Hooded towels, bath stuff, safety kit, bibs, booties, and toys

Diapers and wipes just from the shower! Thank you Lord!

His closet! About 1/4 of these were already purchased by my Mom and Aunt Cherie!

Books, bottles, bottle drying rack, plush toys, shoes, and my stylish new diaper bag!

YAY! Blues, Reds, Oranges, Greens!!!

Living in the grace Jesus

I am so glad that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We as Christians have one stability in our lives even if everything else seems to be shaking! Recently our family has been dealing with some rough issues! Not from within but from without, things we seem to not really have any control over. When you have no control Who do you finally let go and give it to? The Lord! The Lord has told me to keep my mouth shut concerning the issues we are dealing with and I am but I just wanted to publicly praise Him for his grace! God's grace is amazing! When you think how earthly minded we as Christians can be I think we completely forget about the grace that God Himself has dealt to us! A grace that really is unmeasurable! We can't even understand it's depths or heights! I praise God that He sees our heart and not just our outward appearance. That He knows our real drive behind what we are striving for in our lives and He is the only one who can really judge that and know the truth concerning it! I praise the Lord for guiding our home in the direction it's going even when it's a difficult time! I will continue to praise Him whatever comes our way! God is worthy of praise! My God not only supplies my physical needs but oh the love that he shows when He provides for the spiritual needs thru His word and time of fellowship with me! God has shown Himself faithful in our lives and has always blessed us even when we could not see it at the time! My God will protect us with His mighty shield during this time of troubles! He will guard us from the snares of the devil and his armies! He will defeat our foes! He will triumph threw victoriously to show Himself might and strong! To show His grace and love towards His children whom He will protect! I have a mighty mighty God and He is on my side!

Thank you Jesus for knowing my heart and knowing my concerns in life. But Lord thank you most for caring for every detail of my life and guiding it every step! Lord I cannot praise you enough for your provision over the spiritual needs you have met! Lord the way your voice is so clear in your word and in my devotions with you! Lord God I cannot imagine living a life where you have not guided every facet of it! Your guidance has led us in the way we ought to go and with you guiding hand we will continue  on in what you have put before us! Thank you Jesus for all that you are and all that you do! AMEN

Crock pot crazy!

I am turning into a total crock pot crazed lover! I have used my crock pot nearly everyday for the next two weeks of meal planning! It's not only easy but it's actually really great to have a warm, tender, flavor filled meal waiting on you at the end of the day not the other way around! You waiting on your meal and racing around the kitchen to beat the clock at the end of the day! I love how you can get things so tender and have amazing filling meals for your family with less stress of a dirty unorganized kitchen! The crock pot has brought peace to our home even today I wasn't feeling that well and decided I would still throw my crock pot chicken and dumplings in and I will have a wonderful hearty meal for my family tonight! My husband and kids are loving it! Faith calls me the crock pot queen! I will share these few recipes with you and I am sure I will share more after I try them.

Baby boy almost 29 weeks

We are getting more and more excited for him....I have decided on a name but Scott on the other hand has not been so easily decided he says his name is Pedro! Yes I typed that right HAHA! My husband can be a bit well complicated in the name area! I understand it's not something to be taken lightly it will stick with him the rest of his life! We won't be sharing his name until he is born because I am sure it will take us at least that long to agree! Even if you think you know the name don't underestimate my husband! LOL

I love feeling him!

Having a healthy boy :)

Not the most flattering picture but he looks good and healthy :)
It's hard to take pictures of yourself!

Busy busy busy!

Ok so I know it has been way too long since I have posted but alot has been going on! I hadn't put it on here but we found out we are having a BOY!!! We are more than thrilled! We also just recently went to the bank and found out we are pre-approved for a home loan! YAY Scott! Although we won't probably buy until after the new year unless we feel led to do it earlier! We would like to make sure we are fully prepared and doing God's will in purchasing a home. We also received our new bed yesterday and I woke up this morning with no back or hip pain Praise the Lord!!! I was in shock after realizing I had no pain! YAY! Justice is a bundle of surprises her most recent change is what I like to call her becoming a garbage gut! The girl will eat anything! Yesterday she took the whole bag of grapes out of the fridge and ended up having a very gross accident on them! They all went in the garbage. Josh bought me a candy bar I took one square and while I was putting the new bedding on the bed she ate the rest of the whole candy bar! I was very displeased! I was trying to save it for later! This morning she decided she wanted another pop tart after eating two and attempted to open another one and eat it as well. I took it away and sealed it for another day! Need I say more she is our little garbage gut! On top of all these things we are still continuing on with Faith's schooling and she is doing amazing in her phonics and writing and today we are going to do some hands on math activities to see if this helps her understand the concept of adding and eventually subtracting! She is doing wonderful though. We went to her first art class this Tuesday and she made a color wheel with paint, charms, and even glitter!!! She also made a shoe fish very cute! Faith loves to draw and use her imagination! I am excited to see what she does next week as the plan is to make a taco fish out of clay! I am supposing they have us roll out clay into a flat circle and fold it in half and make a fish out of it. Once we have it folded in half and cut it to the shape of a fish! Here are some recent pictures of Faith's progress and the exciting things she is doing!

Faith's color wheel and Shoe Fish :)

Writing all her colors

She can now read both of these books!

Justice and her beautiful coloring!

I will be sending an email to the grandparents of her reading from one of her school books it would not load to this blog post!
