Busy busy busy!

Ok so I know it has been way too long since I have posted but alot has been going on! I hadn't put it on here but we found out we are having a BOY!!! We are more than thrilled! We also just recently went to the bank and found out we are pre-approved for a home loan! YAY Scott! Although we won't probably buy until after the new year unless we feel led to do it earlier! We would like to make sure we are fully prepared and doing God's will in purchasing a home. We also received our new bed yesterday and I woke up this morning with no back or hip pain Praise the Lord!!! I was in shock after realizing I had no pain! YAY! Justice is a bundle of surprises her most recent change is what I like to call her becoming a garbage gut! The girl will eat anything! Yesterday she took the whole bag of grapes out of the fridge and ended up having a very gross accident on them! They all went in the garbage. Josh bought me a candy bar I took one square and while I was putting the new bedding on the bed she ate the rest of the whole candy bar! I was very displeased! I was trying to save it for later! This morning she decided she wanted another pop tart after eating two and attempted to open another one and eat it as well. I took it away and sealed it for another day! Need I say more she is our little garbage gut! On top of all these things we are still continuing on with Faith's schooling and she is doing amazing in her phonics and writing and today we are going to do some hands on math activities to see if this helps her understand the concept of adding and eventually subtracting! She is doing wonderful though. We went to her first art class this Tuesday and she made a color wheel with paint, charms, and even glitter!!! She also made a shoe fish very cute! Faith loves to draw and use her imagination! I am excited to see what she does next week as the plan is to make a taco fish out of clay! I am supposing they have us roll out clay into a flat circle and fold it in half and make a fish out of it. Once we have it folded in half and cut it to the shape of a fish! Here are some recent pictures of Faith's progress and the exciting things she is doing!

Faith's color wheel and Shoe Fish :)

Writing all her colors

She can now read both of these books!

Justice and her beautiful coloring!

I will be sending an email to the grandparents of her reading from one of her school books it would not load to this blog post!

First Day of Kindergarten August 29th 2011(Homeschool)

So today was Faith's first official day of her homeschooling for the year 2011-2012. Some things proved the need of being caught up on. One thing that didn't lack was her sounds of letters and blends! YAY!!! That is a huge deal! The main things that needed refreshing was writing her letters and numbers but she caught on quick and said "This is easy Mom" That encouraged me because I know it is going to get harder as the year continues on. She is actually a quarter of the way through her kindergarten curriculum so we should be moving on to 1st grade by mid-March if not sooner! But for right now we will take one day at a time and Praise the Lord for the progress everyday!

All dressed up and ready to get started

Her desk that fits her just right.
She is such a good girl staying on task.

Chip in the mouth but this pictures just screams I AM 5!!!

I will continue you to keep you updated as I know it will be new to some of you that read my blog. I hope the updates keep you encouraged as Faith shows her ability to learn in her home. I will also try to add pictures of her outings for school whether it be to the library for new books, the AVA Art Center, seeing plays at the theater, going to the Lakeway Learning Center, visiting our Planetarium,  4H Clover Buds in October or homeschool group get togethers. We have plenty planned for this year and Faith is already looking forward to seeing her first play of the year. Unfortunately our theater is having the first one in November but she will be thrilled when she gets to see Charlottes Web! I am hoping to get some kids and their mother's together in September for a Harvest Festival Day. Coloring, Apple craft and much more! I will post more as we progress through the first year!

Time out :)

Today has been good day. I was blessed with a good day with my family. The weather was beautiful and the wind was not to bad for Wyoming! We started out the day with an easy going morning and then on to Faith's school work.

Side note~
She is continuing to excel daily. I was able to order her A Beka curriculum yesterday so I will start that as soon as it comes in. Up until then we have been using flash cards, dry erase board, and just a basic kindergarten book you can buy at a school store. I am really looking forward to getting her new curriculum. It will have more workbooks, writing tablets, and reading books! I know she will be excited to see the new books she will get to start reading all by herself! I am so excited for that....it will be so rewarding to hear her read her books!

After Faith's school work we finished up some chores around the house. Then we went to Walmart for some plant starter pods and some more seeds. We reserved a spot at the local community garden so we will have our own 400 sq ft to plant our own crops! We are so excited about it!!! I am going to sit down with Faith and plan the layout this week; I know she will have fun with that! After we were finished at the store we came back home and I was off {to my time out} a coffee date with Hitomi, a new girlfriend from church. This was our first time out to coffee so it was alot of fun to just get to fill each other in on the basic stuff. I can already tell that the Lord has blessed me with this new friendship. She is so genuine and sweet. We have quite a bit in common and our conversation flowed with ease. I am excited to get to know her more and also for our husbands to get to know each other as I think they will have alot in common!

So after my girl time out I was off to a date with my husband. The date was his idea which is honestly the best part about the date. I love that he wants his time apart with me and that he was wanting it so much he told me with plenty of time for me to ask my sister to come hang out with the girls while we went. The girls were thrilled to see Aunt Amy. Faith colored her a picture two days ago and was so excited to give it to her.

Today was a wonderful time out of my common routine of things. Family, friendship, and love not much else better than these things. The Lord gives me all these things tho so He is above all! Thank Lord for another fine day!
